What is Fat Graft?

A syringe is used to collect fat from the areas where it is in abundance, for example, abdomen, thighs, etc. After that
purification of fat via centrifugal separator is performed. Then it is injected into the areas that lack the volume: forehead,
sunken cheeks, breast, etc.

This procedure adds volume to the flat face and corrects recessed areas.

Some of the transferred fat will be absorbed, but most of it will stay for a very long period of time.
Also, because it is the patient's fat there is no rejection after the procedure.

Surgical Method
  • 01. Fat Harvesting

    Harvesting fat cells using special syringe named “cannula”. It is important to take them carefully with small pressure to minimize cell damage.

  • 02. Pure Fat Extraction

    The extracted fat is mixed with other impurities, like blood, cell walls etc. In order to remove all these impurities, fat should undergo purification process. Using centrifugal separator highly refined fat without impurities is gained.

  • 03. Fat Injection

    Using fine syringe delicate grafting in each area is performed. To prevent facial asymmetry small amount of the fat injected at a time, because the engraftment of the fat cells is high if the fat is distributed evenly between different layers of the skin. Also, the level of engraftment can decrease if some oxygen is accidentally delivered in-between fat cells, thus this surgery should be performed by an experienced surgeon to avod that.

  • 04. Molding

    Right after the Fat Grafting gentle molding is performed to refine the surface and create a smooth and beautiful face.

Self Care that Improves Fat Engraftment
  • Do not rub your skin!

    Swelling can occur after the surgery and make it seems that there is too much fat. If you try to reduce it by rubbing the face, it can destroy the grafted volume. The swelling will reduce by itself in a week, but massage is prohibited for 2 more months.

  • Do not go on a diet!

    Dieting during the recovery period can cause the grafted fat to vanish.

  • Do not smoke or drink!

    Not only in the case of Fat Grafting, but after any surgery smoking and drinking may cause inflammation or pain, so it is recommended to avoid them for at least a month.
